Music in Mott Park - July 24

Join your neighbors on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 7:00 pm for The Music in the Parks 2012 series - Gospel Music Celebration featuring special guest artist Nanette Benman, The Flint Jubilee Chorale and The Flint Community Gospel Singer. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Also, Kettering University will host a potluck prior to the concert at 5:30 pm. Bring a dish to pass and dinner plates / utensils. Kettering's President, Robert McMahan will open the concert with a welcome message of community and unity. Hope to see you there!

Annual Mott Park cleanup - May 19

The Mott Park tennis courts and hockey court will be professionally repaired and ready for play by this summer. The Mott Park Neighborhood Association Executive Committee voted to let Asphalt Management Inc. of Flushing, repair the damaged tennis courts, restripe them, and reseal the Hockey Court before it gets in too bad of shape. To prepare for the repairs we will focus our attention on the courts during the annual park cleanup on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 9 am. Bring your rakes and metal shovels! The more people we have the faster we will get the work done. Lunch will also be served at 12 pm. See you then!

General meeting - April 2

Have you ever wondered about the Genesee County Parks and what programs they offer?  Are you looking for something fun to do this summer?  Nancy Edwards, Recreation Program Specialist, from the Genesee County Parks & Recreation Commission will present pictures and facts about the parks and this summer's special events.  Come join your neighbors for this meeting on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Calvary United Methodist Church (2111 Flushing Road, Flint) from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  We will also be getting a personal introduction to the "Neat Street" program that Mott Park is piloting for Keep Genesee County Beautiful and an update about the Mott Park golf course.  Lastly, we'll hear about a program called "Neighborhoods Without Borders."  This is a grass roots effort for people to come together to help areas of our community that are most vulnerable and at risk for youth.

Neighborhood Association meeting - December 5

Join your neighbors at the next Mott Park Neighborhood Association general meeting on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2404 Flushing Rd. at 7:00 pm.  This meeting will be people friendly which means big people, little people, adults, youth and kids.  It will be a combination of surprises for the whole family!  Come and see what we have planned for this special holiday meeting.  Remember there will be Mott Park elections held on this night.  In addition, we would like everyone to bring a few non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan... and you will have to wait to find out the rest!  See you on Monday!

Neighborhood Association meeting - October 4

Join your neighbors to hear a mayoral forum! Mayor Dayne Walling and Mr. Darryl Buchanan will face the Mott Park community on Monday, October 4, 2011 at St. John Vianney's Parish Hall (2415 Bagley Street, Flint).  Come and hear each candidate's vision for the Mott Park neighborhood and for the City of Flint as a whole. Neighborhood news will also be discussed.

Art in Mott Park 2011!

Join us at Art in Mott Park on Saturday, September 10, 2011. 

The hours will be 11:00 am - 7:00 pm and there will be music from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.  There will be food, information booths, a bag auction, fun inflatables and of course arts and craft vendors.  The Flint Children’s Museum will organize an activities tent for the kids.  The Nosmo King R&B band was so popular last year that we have asked them to come back.  Come on down and support a tradition in the Flint community... proceeds will go towards making Mott Park a safe and fun place for all to enjoy!  Call Sandy McKellar at 232-4710 for additional information.

The Music in the Parks 2011 series continues with Gospel Celebration on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 7:00 pm in Mott Park.  The concert will feature The Flint Area Gospel Musicians & Directors Fellowship, The Flint Jubilee Chorale, and The Flint Jubilee Gospel Singers.  Don't forget you lawn chairs or blankets!
